Business Engineer/Solution Architects

Our Client: is a $10b North American information technology (IT) management and business process services (BPS) company with 71,000 employees in over 40 countries.  It operates delivery centers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Position Title:  Business Engineer

Role and Responsibilities: The Business Engineers (solutions architects) will actively pursue opportunities through client presentations; capture planning, solution development & pricing, proposal writing, and negotiation. Their primary focus is to function as solution leads – selling outsourcing services such as private shared or fully private cloud or large cross tower outsourcing. Responsible for:

  • The process of designing, communicating and evaluating technical, financial and operational solutions for  a wide range of Infrastructure Services, specified by statements of work and service levels;
  • Developing proposals in response to a Request for Proposal or to support a business process solution;
  • Advising and supporting the Pursuit Leader and Infrastructure Architect;
  • Developing relationships at the senior technical levels with customer organizations, internal business process organizations and third party advisory firms;
  • Leading a team of subject matter experts that builds the infrastructure solution;
  • Integrating the solution cost elements into a cost model, building the pricing of the solution, and documenting the solution in a proposal;
  • Providing consulting services to clients in specific domain of expertise;
  • Participating in due diligence process and in contract/pricing discussions with clients;
  • Working with hardware and software suppliers to obtain product information and pricing for solutions;
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and new technologies;
  • Keeping abreast of company-developed solutions available to clients. 

Qualifications: Significant experience required; must have direct experience with customers who have been through multiple outsourcing experiences.  Direct and full understanding of the evolving outsourcing market, especially over the last 10 years. Strong understanding of Cloud, Data Center,  IT Outsourcing and evolving industry trends

  • 5-7 years of ITO experience
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business requirements
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • At least 3 years of experience in creating technical solution design documents and deliverables, and providing input into RFI/RFP/SOW development
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial business analysis using costing tools to document business cases with transition and transformation costs
  • Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the business and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
  • Results-oriented self-starter – ability to take action and produce desired outcomes with little direction
  • Present solutions confidently and accurately to client executives and sales team
  • Ability to work outside of comfort-zone
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
